Glimpse:
Pentathlon Ventures has invested in healthtech startup AyushPay, which provides affordable healthcare financing for underserved Indians through medical loans and subscription plans. The estimated $2 million round will help AyushPay expand its tech-enabled services across Tier 2 and 3 cities, offering access to over 10,000 hospitals nationwide.
Pune-based early-stage venture fund Pentathlon Ventures has invested in AyushPay, a rising healthtech and embedded finance platform focused on making healthcare more affordable for Indiaβs underserved middle and lower-middle income groups. While the exact deal size remains undisclosed, industry sources estimate the funding round to be around $2 million, with Pentathlon contributing under $1 million.
Founded with a mission to bridge Indiaβs healthcare financing gap, AyushPay offers a credit-led, tech-enabled platform that provides low-cost medical loans, subscription health plans, and AI-powered approvals. Its services are accessible through a vast network of over 10,000 hospitals across the country.
The platform addresses a critical issue in Indian healthcare: the lack of financial support for the vast population excluded from both public and private insurance schemes. This often results in delayed treatments, unaffordable out-of-pocket expenses, or complete avoidance of medical care.
βAyushPay is changing that using a credit-led, tech-enabled model to offer affordable healthcare financing for the 600 million+ underserved,β said Pentathlon Ventures in a statement.
Pentathlon, known for backing scalable, innovation-driven startups, believes AyushPay has the potential to disrupt traditional healthcare financing models and bring meaningful change to a deeply fragmented system.
The funding will help AyushPay accelerate the expansion of its services, improve tech infrastructure, and broaden reach across Indiaβs Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where healthcare affordability challenges are most acute.
